Michael McCarthy receives the “Champion Of Champions” trophy for 2007 from Con O Connell the president of the Irish Pipe Band Association

Youghal Pipe Band have won the “Champion Of Champions” trophy for 2007 having also received the trophy in 2006. This trophy is awarded to the band that gained the most points over the competition season. The results are based on overall performance in both piping and drumming skills and the Youghal band came out way ahead of their competition.

The band are honoured to receive this prize and sees them going forward to compete in the “All Ireland Pipeband Championships” 2008 for the first time. The championships are being held in Ennis, Co. Clare on the 5th July 2008.
