St Ita’s Golf Classic 2008 Launch Night

The launch for St Ita’s Golf Classic took place recently, after the successful golf Classic last year everyone is looking forward to this years event. This year it will take place in Youghal golf Club on the 14th & 15th May. With a lot of teams taking part this year there was a second day added to the event and once again we would like to thank all the sponsors of the event.
St Ita’s would like to thank the main sponsors of this years Classic who are Multi Roofing Systems Ltd, AMAC Farm Supplies Ltd, Farrell’s Bar Summerfield Youghal and Gazebos Restaurant who provided fantastic facilities on the launch night.
On the night of the launch it was great to see so many people present in Gazebos and MC for the evening Henry Nicholson welcomed everyone who came.
Miley Griffen chairman of the Golf Classic Committee spoke about the golf classic and how successful it was last year and that this year he hoped it would be as successful. From Youghal Golf Club M O Regan spoke extending a warm welcome on behalf of Youghal Golf Club for the forth coming event.
Angel Welsh Cork Senior Football captain then spoke about how her first football medals came from Clonpriest NS and that the local club were always active in promoting hurling and football with the school children. She wished everyone well and thanked the club for inviting her to the launch night.
Jim Griffen Club President and the man responsible for the well groomed field in Pilmore went on to extend his congratulations to all players and mentors of the club and said it was a great year and that he hoped this year would be as successful for the club.
Sean Harnedy Club Chairman rounded off the official speeches, he thanked everyone for coming to the launch night and mentioned that the year gone by was a very successful year and that was all down to the hard work of the players, selectors, Manager John Boylan and the club in general for all the support and work they put in throughout the year.
On the same night the Munster and Cork County Final medals were presented to all the players and it was great to see the players getting their medals after a long but very successful year.
