Youghal Town Cllr. Michael Beecher

Youghal Town Cllr. Michael Beecher
During last week’s monthly town council meeting, Cllr. Michael Beecher raised several issues and presented them to the County Manager. Primary amongst these was the Cllr’s concerns over the continuing dumping of domestic rubbish. He stated. “The litter louts dumping domestic rubbish down the bog road must be made an example of.” he added that the entrance below the railway crossing was the most affected area. “Another area is the New Line. Some people are throwing domestic rubbish from their cars into front gardens. Homeowners are very upset,” he continued, before asking that the County Litter Warden patrol the areas. The Cllr. also joined in the chorus of disapproval over the ongoing odour problems at the Civic Amenity Site.
On other matters, the Cllr. called for the completion of the footpath at Aura Leisure Centre, an update as to when the proposed car park will commence at Sarsfield Tce. as well as the disabled space at Raheen Park and expressed the hope that the HSE would resume normal service to the Chiropody and Diabetic clinics at the District Hospital, demanding that the HSE put it in writing to the Council that the change in operations ‘is only temporary’.
