The Youghal Disability/Action Awareness Group announced the winners of their poster competition The competition was held for 5th year students at Pobalscoil Na Trionoide in Youghal. The aim of the competition was to design a poster that could be displayed around the town of Youghal to discourage people from abusing the disabled parking spaces.
The first prize was awarded to Sarah Jane Daly which was sponsored by Jimmy Flanagan of UPVC Windows and doors, second prize went to Sarah Roche and was sponsored by Doyle’s chipper and third prize was given to Clowie Hogan by Mayor David Savage on behalf of Tides Restaurant.
The Youghal Disability Action/Awareness Group hopes to have these posters displayed in as many premises around town. As the standard of entries was so high, it is also hoped that a display of all the posters submitted for the competition appear in one of the shop windows in town. So keep an eye out and please, please respect parking spaces that are reserved for people with disabilities.
