Youghal United AFC AGM
By Anthony Horgan & Eugene Crotty

Ladies football team players Aisling Coleman and Jessica Lawton
The clubs AGM was held recently at the Walter Raleigh Hotel and it proved to be one of the better AGM’s in recent times. As the club was very short on bodies committee wise, the club was struggling with the day to day operation and effectively running at a loss. Letters were sent out to past members and players to try and get them back involved again and the response I have to say was excellent. The meeting was chaired by Damien O’Brien in Billy Cotters absence and each officer gave their report on the situation of the club and the season gone by. Random questions by all present couldn’t believe how bad things were and each question came back to availability of bodies. Some questions related to why this or why that was not done to try and create money throughout the season - the short of it was that about three people were keeping the club afloat and they couldn’t do everything. When it came to electing the new committee people simply jumped on board and were willing to give their time to try and get the club back to the winning days!
The new committee is as follows:
Sammy Revins Club Chairman
Finbarr Walsh Vice Chairman
Liam Ryan Treasurer
Damien o’ Brien Secretary
Sally o’ Sullivan Schoolboys/girls Secretary
Anthony Horgan & Eugene Crotty Club and Senior P.R.O
T.Kennedy Schoolboys/girls P.R.O
Committee members: Willie Collins, James Daly, Emmett Perry, Pierce Hennessy, Christophe Colin, David Coleman, Derek Long, Brian Wade, Jamie Lawton, Kevin Gallogley.
With a freshness and enthusiasm about the place now here’s hoping this is the beginning of something new. A committee meeting has been scheduled for this Tues 8th July @8pm in Ardrath Park all members are asked to attend.
Umbro Gaynor Cup!
Two members of the ladies team represented their club on Cork teams recently in the Umbro Gaynor cup held at University Limerick. That was Jessica Lawton playing in the under 13 team where they finished 3rd in their division and Aisling Coleman who played in the Under 15 team where they finished 4th in their division. Both girls play at centre back and played very well throughout. Again well done and keep up the hard work!
Summer Soccer Camp 2008!!!
Weather was not very kind for the week but still the kids enjoyed this year’s summer soccer camp held last week at Ardrath park. Numbers were down this year but still a healthy 81 participants took place each getting their football kit, bag, ball and water bottle. Richard Sheehan took time out to be there for the week and a big thank you to him for his efforts. It was well run with all sorts of skills and drills practiced along with games.

Under 9 & 10’s Sunday morning training sessions.
Why not come along and join in on the fun at Ardrath park every Sunday morning between 11am and 12 noon. Christophe Colin and his team of Pierce Hennessy, Emmett Perry and T Kennedy train the young lads for an hour. Why not bring along your son to participate or indeed lend a hand. All are welcome!!!!
All-Weather Flood lit Pitch
The clubs all-weather flood lit pitch is available for hire at €25 per hour for five a side pitch or €50 for a full pitch. The season has come to a close now so more slots have become available to hire. The man to contact with all the details is Jamie on 086-3461540.
