Once again this year the youth of Youghal were able to learn a few words in the Spanish language at Youghal’s International College, South Abbey.

Youghal International College is an English language school specialising in courses for students aged from 6 to 21 years old.
Each year hundreds of Spanish students come to Youghal and spend three weeks in the college learning and improving their English. The college also opens its doors to local kids allowing them to mix with the Spanish students playing games such a volleyball, basketball, American football and baseball on the beaches of Youghal or on the GAA pitches.

The Irish children attend the Spanish camp from 3.30pm in the afternoon until 7.30pm in the evening allowing them to still have a lie-in in the morning. During their day they attend Spanish classes, dance classes and play an array of different sport activities. Twice a week there is a 1-hour disco in the evening allowing them to practice the dancing skills they learned during the week. The week runs from Monday to Saturday.

“I send my two children every year” says one Mum “its great value at only €90 for the three weeks and for 6 days and they absolutely love it!” she adds.

With all the rain we had this summer I’d say it was well worth the money and a great way to learn another language whilst having fun!
