On Friday 24th April, Joe Dan’s Pub hosted a charity Leg Wax/ Head Shave in aid of the Irish Hospice Foundation. Report Michael Hussey/Photo: Warren Tivy (YoughalOnline.com)

Reuben Jayawardene gets his hair off with Micheala and Emma from Team Bailey
Nine local lads- Tony Kiely, Shane Pomphrett, Eoin Power, Fenton Cashman, Gerard Horgan, Emmet Kelly, Jimmy Russell, Fred Jayawardene and Reuben Jayawardene- generously donated their heads and legs for the night, which raised a staggering €2000.

Irish Hospice Foundation volunteers
Jackie Cronin of Allure Salon, made short work of the legs, and Emma and Michaela Bailey from Team Bailey saw to the head shaving in expert fashion.
Siobhán Downing was the MC for the night, and she made sure that the packed crowd never stopped laughing as Jackie, Emma and Michaela went to work on the lads.
Peter Roche kindly donated his services as a DJ and Warren Tivy took care of the photography for www.youghalonline.com.
This was one of several events organised to raise money for Reuben Jayawardene’s Dublin to Paris Cycle for the Irish Hospice Foundation in July.
Special thanks to all the above, to Lucy Jayawardene and Niamh Daly for organisation, to Angela Pomphrett for tireless fundraising work and to all those who donated.
