He was on site to cut the Specsavers green ribbon as well as making himself available to sign merchandise and photos for fans from 2-3pm. Pearse commented: “As a sportsman who has to keep my eye on the ball at all times, I recognise the importance of taking care of your eyesight. Specsavers at Market Green Shopping Centre, Midleton is the perfect place to come for all your eyecare needs, and their expert staff, along with their professional, value-for-money service, are the perfect people to assist you.”

Store directors, Marie Roche and Deirdre Franklin form the management team at the new Market Green Shopping Centre Specsavers store. Marie, from Clashmore, Co Waterford, has 18 years’ experience working in the Specsavers Cook Street store. She is joined by Midleton resident, Deirdre Franklin, a qualified optometrist with 11 years’ experience. The pair head an experienced team which also includes local man, Dermot Kelly, an experienced lab manager with 28 years’ optical experience and qualified optometrist, Colette Hill, from Dungarvan, Co Waterford.
Marie says: ‘We are delighted to welcome Pearse O’ Neill to officially open the Specsavers store at Market Green Shopping Centre in Midleton. Pearse is a great ambassador for Cork, and as a dedicated sportsman from the local area, we at Specsavers are thrilled that he could open the doors of Specsavers at Market Green. We very much look forward to offering the people of Midleton a professional local service with state-of-the-art facilities, value-for-money specs and a huge range of stylish frames.’

Specsavers at Market Green Shopping Centre stocks a number of designer brands, including collections from Jasper Conran, Red or Dead, Monsoon, Tommy Hilfiger, fcuk(r) and the best selling Osiris brand. The Midleton store will be keeping ahead of the trends by reviewing what specs wearers in the area want and offering trained frame stylists who will advise customers on the best shape and colour of specs to suit their face shapes.
