This course lasts one week and covers the basics of film making.
During the first three days the focus will be on:
Screenwriting Camera work Sound Pre-production
Production Lighting Location Art direction
Acting for film Hair & make-up Editing Direction
Roles Hands-on exercises in the various fields covered
During the final two days participants will make a short film based on the winning Short Story from The First Draft Competition.
Max Le Cain and Ciara Hyland, Cork Film Centre, will present the course with other invited specialists.
Please include your age and contact details. Places are limited to 20.The full cost of this week is €10. Priority will be given to those who have completed FIRST CUT workshops with Cork Film Centre.

Youth Film Project
This course is organised by FIRST CUT Youth Film Project in association with Cork Film Centre and funded by The Arts Office of Cork County Council and South and East Cork Area Development Ltd, (SECAD).

SHORT STORY WRITING COMPETITION 2009
Young People are invited to submit their short stories to the FIRST CUT Film Project. The winning entry will be the basis of a film to be made by First Cut Young Film Makers at the annual Summer Film Week in June.
This competition is open to all young people at youth project/secondary school level in the South and East Cork Areas.
ENTRIES TO BE SUBMITTED BY FRIDAY MAY 22ND, 2009
UPTO 500 WORDS/ MAX. 2 PAGES TYPED.
The winning author will be prominently credited on the film which will be shown at the inaugural FIRST CUT FILM FESTIVAL in September 2009. The winning story and two runners up will be published on an internet site connected to Cork Film Centre and the FIRST CUT blogsite.
