Speaking at The Mall Arts Centre on the forthcoming election Mr. Cowen said, “At the end of the day, it’s on the 5th of June that these decisions are made by the people and our job during the campaigns is to put our positive agenda across and that’s what we are doing and I think the organisation is in great heart.”
The Taoiseach gave a brief radio interview with local CRY broadcasters Tommy Collins and Pat Reilly from 104FM  www.youghalradio.com. A short video clip of the visit is also featured on the video section of www.youghalonline.com

Political and other courtesies aside, presenting him with a coat of arms?

Better to present Micky Ahern with a map directing him to Youghal (despite hi finding it fast enough when the Taoiseach stopped over on his way back to an articulated trailer in Clara), considering he has managed to ignore this region without exception during his 27 years as teachta dala. Count those years folks, and count the inadequacies.

Did anyone aside from Pat Reilly ask Biffo one straight question during his “visit” to one of the most overlooked and neglected communities on this island. Anyone?

How many knew he was coming by the way? Obviously some did, given their shuffling of unimportant papers, and their presence in the first row for photographs etc.

Nowt as flattering as a shot of the top of one’s head in the same frame as the Taoiseach of the day.

    Not.
