AS FASHION OBSERVER FOR www.youghalonline.com it was my enviable task to attend Rachel Darcy’s South Beach Boutique’s 2nd Birthday event at her beautifully appointed fashion space South Main Street, Youghal.  On the night of Tuesday 29th September, the store was buzzing with excitement as Rachel unveiled her autumn/winter collection for her customers and invited guests.

Models Micheala Bailey, Maria McKiernan and Erin Walsh did not disappoint!  As they showed us the hottest catwalk-worthy trends of the season. Also covered by seasonal trends were the perfect accessories to complete the look. I was impressed by the diversity of price points on the fashion items on offer in Rachel’s store.  For further information, please feel free, browse through her impressive new collection in store, and look out for many on-trend as well as unusual pieces from the now legendary ‘Otazu’ Spanish fashion jewelery range.

Showcased on the night were the hottest looks, some uniquely effortless pieces and super-glam frocks! Rachel now carries exquisite foot ware by the Italian label ‘Bourne’.
The guests were treated to wine and gourmet nibbles courtesy of Joseph of La Bella Roma in an easy and informal atmosphere. Stylist and beautician Avril Geary, gave us one of her inimitable style talks with the emphasis on individualism, and awareness of body-shape.

The “Best Dressed Lady” prize was awarded at the culmination of the evening to Marie Duggan ( sponsored by South Beach, La Bella Roma and Avril Geary) who rocked it out in a classic black ‘old-school’ Vivian Westwood dress. Well done Avril and Emma (Bailey) for your inspired choice, proving once again that a simple classic style with a twist never dates! The judging panel had a most difficult task in picking the winner as all in attendance were worthy of a prize

A final nod to all the South Beach team who helped to make the night such a testament to glamour from the amazing hairstyles by ‘Team Bailey’ to the exemplary hosting skills-(take a bow Hillary Hurst and Christina Clohessy). Guest photographers on the night were Emanuela Borra, Martina Pace from Turin, Italy and Claire Regan. Special mention to Damian Moore fresh from his escorting duties at the Rose of Tralee Festival who greeted all Rachel’s guests on the red carpet with charm and grace.  Last but not least to all who attended as guests, ladies take heart, breaking the bank isn’t essential to looking fabulous as was evident on the night in all your beautifully crafted ‘looks’.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Rachel Darcy, and all at South Beach. Long may you provide us with amazing fashion options. Thank you for a superb evening of fashion and fun!
