Over 30 anglers took part in this year’s event on the Charter Boats Rebecca C (Martin Colfer), Sea Hunter (Gavin Tivy) and Deora Dé (James Linehan)

Saturday’s weather was challenging with F4-5 southerly winds and rain on and off all day.  The fishing was good, Cod being caught up to 8lb, Pollack and Ling up to 9lb and Mackerel were in good numbers on Saturday.

Sunday’s weather was sunny with light winds which were welcomed by all.  Mackerel were low in numbers compared to Saturday.  An intense day fishing by all to get a high score on the score cards.  Big shoals of coal fish being fished by the Deora Dé crew as were found by the Sea Hunter crew on Saturday.  All boats had Cod 7-8lbs, Pollack up to 6-7lbs, Haddock coming aboard the Rebecca C.  At anchor conger were slow 5-6 fish on the boats so all went back to drifting.  Lines up were 4pm.  Prize giving at the Quays Bar (Main Sponsors) 6pm.  A great weekend fishing was had by all anglers.
