To be held every Friday.
The same day and times as the newly announced Youghal Town Farmer’s Market in Dolphin Square!
Whoops!
Its great – The more people it brings into the area the better – it highlights the large Variety of Local Producers in the East Cork area. Each Market will have different producers. At Greenbarn we have 20 Stands coming this week – Due to the success of our other Farmers Markets we have 5 new Stall Holders this week. Greenbarn is a different Farmers Market because we have the Garden Centre & Lifestyle shop, Kids Play area,Toilet Facilities, Free Face Painting, Baloon Magic and Greenbarn Cafe on site along with plenty of Free Parking– and if its a wet day we can go under cover. Having 2 markets on the one day will Highlight both Youghal & Greenbarn the East Cork area and should bring people from Cork & West Waterford to have a real full day out.
I agree whole heartedly with you Nessa. The more people it brings into the area the better.
It still doesn’t take away from the fact that there will be two conflicting markets in the same locality at the same time on the same day.
Market One is trying to entice people to visit a town.
Market Two is trying to entice people to visit the grounds of an established business. Naturally there will be a conflict.
I’m not taking sides but I’m trying to be objective. I wish success on both endeavours. But two markets on the same day/times and area will not be mutually beneficial.
Nonetheless I will still do my utmost to visit both!
All the above aside I wish yourself and Mike continuing success. Three times in the last two months I have been out to Greenbarn and herself has been happy each time! And I concur with the Sunday Independent, It’s well worth visiting. It’s just a shame about the clash of the markets.
