ON FRIDAY JULY 6TH 2012, Michael Lee, Officer in charge of the Youghal Coast Guard and Seamus Mason, Youghal RNLI, station mechanic, attended a garden party held in the private grounds of Áras an Uachtaráin. The party was hosted by President Michael D. Higgins and his wife Sabina, to acknowledge the vital work of the front line emergency services.
This was a great honour for both men, not just to represent the Youghal Coast Guard and Youghal RNLI teams, but also our local communities. The party was very enjoyable and was also attended by members of the other services, including the Fire Brigade, Ambulance service, and Gardai.
Youghal Coast Guard – a voluntary rescue unit of the Irish Coast Guard.
Youghal RNLI – a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service of The Royal National Lifeboat Institution - the charity that saves lives at sea.
