Garden parties, cricket matches, coming of age parties, otter hunts- just some of the events captured in a fascinating photographic exhibition of the Big House in Ireland 1858-1922 courtesy of the National Library of Ireland that was launched in the Old Market House Arts Centre last Thursday, 2nd August 2012.
The exhibition features many images of the Big House in Waterford such as Curraghmore, Mount Congereve and Tourin, giving a wonderful insight into the lives and lifestyles of this period. The exhibition is being hosted by the Waterford County Council Cultural Heritage Services as part of the County Waterford Heritage Week events programme which runs from August 18th-26th.
