This year’s Cork Snooker league is proving to be very successful for the Youghal teams. The ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams have been putting in consistently good performances week in week out and hence find themselves in very good positions. The ‘A’ team have made the Division 1 top spot their own and showed that they are the team to beat having won all of their games so far in this year’s league. The ‘B’ team occupy 2nd place in Division 1 and look certain to qualify for the semi-finals after their recent amazing victory, away to last year’s Munster Club runners-up, the Crucible. Youghal ‘C’ are sitting in 3rd place in Division 2 and look good to qualify for the semi-finals also. The society would like to wish all teams the best of luck in their remaining fixtures.

The Paddy Joyce Memorial Snooker Tournament recently reached its conclusion. The final was made up of two ‘B’ team players Ian Hennessy and William Kelly. The many spectators were well impressed by the high quality final produced. William played very well and came through 3-1 to win the tournament. Well done to both players on reaching the final and thanks to Ger Swayne who acted as referee on the night.

Congratulations to Aaron Tobin on recently winning the Cork U-19 Snooker Championship. Aaron beat Sean Burns in his home club of the Crucible in Cork. Aaron played brilliantly on the day to add to his CBSA Cork U-14, Cork U-16 and Cork U-17 Team Championship titles.
