Community Radio Youghal 4th Annual Country Music Awards 2012
On Monday the 19th November Community Radio Youghal held its 4th annual Country Music Awards. It was a night of dancing and singing from the outset. MC on the occasion, Tommy Collins from Youghal Radio, welcomed the large crowd to this event. He introduced the wonderful Seabreeze band from Tramore Co Waterford who were going to back all the entertainers on the night. The first act of the evening to receive an award was country singer John Hogan who was the recipient of The Hall of Fame Award. John Hogan took to the stage and sang several songs getting the crowd out on the dance floor. It was a great start to the evening.

This was followed by the award for the most requested Male artist. Margaret Carey was on hand to present the award to singer Philip English, Philip joined the band seabreeze on stage and preformed several songs to a delighted audience. The next award presented was for the most popular duo popular CRY presenter John Cunningham was on hand to present the award to Dermot and Irene Ring who have been touring as a duo for the last year now. They took to the stage and sang several great songs and the crowd remained on the dance floor throughout.
The next award was presented by Mervyn Scott was to singer Trudi Lalor for The Most Popular Female Artist. Trudi took to the stage and this popular performer sang some of her big hits before she was joined on stage by The Most Requested Male Artist Patrick O Sullivan who had released a duet single with Trudi in recent times. This was a great surprise to the audience and was well received. Trudi then left the stage and Teresa Joyce presented Patrick with his award. Patrick sang a few songs and played the accordion and the crowd stayed on the floor until the break.
After the break Angela Kearns was centre stage as she presented the award for Best DVD to local Aglish singer and popular entertainer Paddy O Brien. Paddy sang some of his old standards and one one song from his new DVD. As always Paddy was warmly received by the audience who all stayed on the floor during his set. The final award on the night was presented to singer Michael Collins a popular performer on the social dancing scene. Michael won the award for Most Popular Album. The dancing went on for another while before the band Seabreeze ended. It was a great night of entertainment with the wonderful acts as always preforming to a very high standard. It has to be said that there was no waiting time between acts and the whole show ran smoothly from start to finish. Well done to all the winners and to everyone who voted for them.
