The junior snooker team finals were held last Saturday and all the players showed great skill on the green baize. The players turned out in the obligatory dress code, which was great to see. Snooker amongst the juniors was never so popular at the society and all the championship tables are in constant play. The tables are kept in impeccable order due to the high standard of care by the four caretakers and the tournament committee ran the event to a strict timetable. Blue Flag is a prestigious, international award scheme, which acts as a guarantee to tourists that the beach they are visiting is one of the best in the world. Youghal United U-10 FC Win The Leonard Rodgers Memorial Cup

Youghal United U-10 Team
The sun blazed down on Clashmore last Saturday, June 7th when Youghal United U10’s won the Leonard Rodgers Memorial Cup on Clashmore Ramblers’ football pitch at Pablo Park.
Leonard Rodgers was a native of Clashmore who invested a lot of time and money into his local football club but sadly Leonard passed away this year. This memorial was in his honour. 8 teams participated for the first Memorial and hopefully there will be many more to come. It was an exciting, nail biting final between Youghal and Railway Athletic FC from Kilkenny, who have been playing together as a team for the last three years.
Both teams were as tough as nails, with strong skilful players on both sides, but it was Youghal who had the strongest team and won the day when

Youghal Pipe Band travelled to Cobh last Sunday June 1st 2008 to compete in the South of Ireland Pipe Band Championship. This annual event draws many talented bands from all over the country to compete in the various grades of 5, 4 & 3.
Youghal Pipe Band beat off stiff competition to win 2nd place in Grade 5 and also 3rd Place in Grade 3. The band are also going forward to compete for the first time in the “All Ireland Pipeband Championships” 2008. The championships are being held in

Cork County Fire and Building Control Dept. have engaged in a Public Awareness Programme on Fire Safety within the Home with selected groups of national schools in the Cork County area. This is part of the Community Fire Safety Campaign being undertaken by the Fire Dept. and follows a series of successful presentations undertaken with active retirement groups during the winter months.
