Youghal’s Steve Whelan Band appearing on Balcony TV at The Clarion Hotel, Cork City

The Steve Whelan Band are a 5 piece High Energy rock/reggae/blues band from Co. Cork with Award winning singer/songwriter Steve Whelan at the helm and with Tony Kiely on Guitar, Oliver Loughnan on drums and Warren Tivy on bass. The Steve Whelan Band has gone from strength to strength. The band also guest musicians like Eanna Dowling on keys and Tom Edwards on sax for different shows

The Steve Whelan Band have been making a name for themselves performing in venues, pubs and festivals around Ireland for the last 2 years such as electric picnic, castlepalooza, rockanore and the myrtle groove and have received some great feedback from the gigs. The Band are currently promoting a new cd ‘Shadows become Faces’ which they are hoping to have out soon. Steve has a solo album out ‘The Last Walk’, which you can find on the net.

Up to 30 acts auditioned in The Hot Spot Youth Centre Youghal on Saturday the 18th of December for a chance to perform at The Y Factor Talent Show 2010 at the Walter Raleigh Hotel on Saturday January 8th
The show organised by Sacred Roots will hosted by Cry Fm’s Jane Holly Show along with some special guests.

12 Performers 6 under 14  & 6 over 15 were piked to strut they’re stuff on the night in front of three judges who will choose two winners from each category to receive the accolade of Y Factor winner 2010 plus a cash prize and studio time courtesy of Claycastle Recording studios Youghal.
Its gonna be a cracker so Don’t miss it !!!
The auditions and the show will be filmed and available on dvd in the new year.
