The Final of the Great CRY Giveaway took place live on CRY 104fm last Saturday morning ( 14th April 2012) as part of the Rural Report show hosted by Noel Cronin,
The four weekly winners Pauline Fitzgerald , Sylvia Stack , James Foley and Mary Griffin were joined in the studio by the independent adjudicator from Youghal Chamber Eileen Quill and station Manager Declan Gibbons who was also acting as Quizmaster and MC for the occasion.

In Round 1 the four finalists went head to head in a buzzer type round where in a round of four questions the first to shout their name had the opportunity to answer the question , Sylvia Stack was first off the mark securing The Handmade lamp from Jack O Patsy Pottery, while James Foley was next in taking home with him An equally impressive lamp fro Scotts in North Main Street. The Two remaining contestants Pauline and Mary then secured a Framed photo of Youghals Boardwalk from McGoldricks Art Gallery and an evening meal for two in The Lighthouse Brasserie respectively.

With each contestant having won a prize it was time to for the serious business and it was time for a window full of prizes to be won, With a value of well over €1000 Eileen Quill from Youghal Chamber was now cast in the role of Kingmaker , Each of the four Green balls before her had inside it the name of one of the finalists and as Eileen randomly picked a ball that contestant then had an opportunity to choose from one of the coloured balls one of which was the winning ticket and was worth over €1000. Pauline was picked first choosing the red ball, with Sylvia up next choosing the purple one, James then chose the colour of the Deise the blue one while Mary was left to pick the last remaining ball the yellow one . Once each contestant had a coloured ball in their possession ,Station Manager Declan Gibbons then asked all four contestants to open their chosen ball and it was Ardmore’s James Foley who had the lucky ticket in his possession and was now the proud owner of ( See Below)

Station Manager Declan Gibbons once again thanked The 25 local businesses who kindly donated fantastic prizes to the Giveaway and John Flavin who provided the use of his shop on 127 North Main Street to display the prizes. He also thanked all those who had entered the draw and congragulated the four finalists and Elizabeth Morgan who won the Easter Draw the previous week when all the entrants to the Giveaway were entered in a Draw for a Lidl hamper. Sylvia Stack had also won an Easter Hamper from Brookes Super Valu in a seperate weekly winners draw also on Easter Saturday.
It was then time for the photos and James Foley who had coincidentally brought his Van with him had just one more job to do..

The final week of the The Great CRY Giveaway in association with Youghal’s Business Community saw Mary Griffin become the fourth and final weekly winner in the competition and Mary will now join James Foley, Sylvia Stack and Pauline Fitzgerald in the final four .
All four weekly winners are guaranteed a fantastic prize but one of the four will walkaway with over 20 great prizes worth in excess of €1000.
Mary, James, Sylvia and Pauline will be guests on the Rural Report Programme on CRY104fm hosted by Noel Cronin this Saturday morning April the 14th from 10am where they will battle it out to become the overall winner and leave the studio over €1000 better off. ANTIQUE FAIR:
The 10th annual antique fair will take place this year on March 18th ” Mothers day”. The fair for many has become an annual family day out with something for everyone.
The antique fair is held in aid of the Cloyne Dioceses Invalid fund, all money raised is used to send people from Youghal and the surrounding area to Lourdes with the Cloyne pilgrimage. Those who benefit would not otherwise be able to make the pilgrimage. Pilgrims who have been feel uplifted, gain a great peace and hope for the future.

Antique Dealers from around the country, will have a great array of things to tempt you, antique furniture, jewellery, vintage wear, china, silver and glass. The coin dealers have some rare notes and coin for you to purchase, perhaps you have some at home, bring it along and see what you will get for it. Nicky loughnane our local antique expert will be on hand, to value any item you would like to bring along, perhaps you have something in the attic or cupboard worth a fortune.
